Jesus by the Sea of Galilee – Peter Koenig

In his life, death, and resurrection Jesus calls us into an embodied love. An active love.

The story we are going to reflect on happens a week or more after Jesus appears to the disciples in the upper room-twice. The first without Thomas, then again in the same room. According to John, Jesus did more signs, but we don't hear of them. John continues with our story for today.

On an early morning beach, Jesus cooks breakfast and later asks Peter, if he loves him. He presses Peter’s quick response ‘of course!’, with an invitation to act out his love, to feed those who are hungry. As I entered this whole story with my imagination, I was struck by how Jesus accompanied, tended, and provided for the disciples.

I’m going to invite you to read it slowly with me, with your imagination.
